[Basics]
Muse Name: Lucy Channary
Muse Journal: [info]usestypewriters
PB: Alia Shawkat

[Appearance]
Lucy stands about 5'4", and it's easy to get the feeling she still isn't comfortable with her womanly figure.  Having been stick-skinny for most of her life, the sudden development of curves she experienced the summer before high school began came as a shock.  Her complexion is definitely inherited from her mother's side (Arabic and Iranian descent), as are her brown eyes, but her unruly curls and freckles are all the fault of her father's Irish-Welsh-German background.  If she tried, she could even pass for exotic at times.

[History]
Lucy's parents wound up in Mayhill by accident as much as anything else; her mother's family was less than pleased with her marrying outside of her faith and didn't offer much support to the newlyweds, while almost all of her father's family had already passed on.  When he got a job at the insurance agency in Mayhill, they made the move almost immediately, ready to start supporting themselves.  Lucy was born six months after their arrival, and was doted on like any first child.  As things got easier for them financially, and more children (Rian a year later, Samira two and half, and finally Jeremiah after four) joined the family, they moved up in the world, into a two-story in one of Mayhill's nicer little neighborhoods.

Lucy is now a sophomore in high school, and though not popular, well-liked.  She has a group of friends (mostly extroverted nerds like herself) and a position of power (or so she thinks of it) on the school paper.

[Personality]
She's one of those people who more or less forces you to like them, or at the least respect them.  Forever in everyone's business like a good reporter, she's rarely seen without a notepad or a tape recorder.  She's extremely extroverted and sometimes puts her foot in her mouth.  She's also a complete media dork; music, films, books, television, all of it.  Somewhat of a know-it-all, she's that one girl in class that by all rights should be obnoxious but is somehow endearing.

[Personal Life]
Lucy is a high school sophomore, currently without a part-time job as she's far too busy with the school paper and all of her honors classes.  She's considering trying to get a job at the movie theater over the summer, and she spends most of her spare time fangirling over movies and TV with her friends.

[Writing Sample]
The articles were appearing in the drop box one by one, and Lucy went through all of them, keeping an eye out for the tell-tale red squiggly lines as well as less noticeable spelling and grammar errors.  She prided herself on not letting things slip by.

"Has the front page piece come in yet, Luce?" asked Ginny, the editor.

"Nuh-uh," Lucy muttered.  "Should I go bug Pat about it when I'm done proofing this piece?"

Ginny chuckled.  "You just worry about doing your job, I'll do the policing."

Shrugging, Lucy returned to the copy.  She knew her go-getter attitude was more than appreciated... right?
